Kuldevta, Ishta Devta, Kul Purohit and Gau Grass.

ૐ The Shiva Tribe ૐ's photo.

Kuldevta, Ishta Devta, Kul Purohit and Gau Grass.
For peace, harmony and prosperity of the entire family, it is important that the Ishta Devta is worshipped every day; Kul Devta worshipped at all ceremonies and celebrations; and daan (gift) given to the Kul Purohit at least once a year specially during the `Pitra Paksha' when we remember our ancestors. Kuldevta is considered as the God and Goddess prayed to by the family or whole clan during any ceremony. While IshtaDevta can be precise to each person, IshtaDevta is the individualDivinity who guides the soul to its real home- Moksha. These three along with `Gau gras' every day form the four pillars of the stability in the family. `Gau gras' is giving a roti every day, to a cow, dogs and crows or birds. `Gau-gras' is said to bless the family with " dhan, dhanya aur sumati" wealth, food and virtuous thoughts.
Kuldevta or Kuldevi, is the concept of family deity in Hinduism. This tradition is strictly followed by many Hindus but sadly, several Hindus also have lost this tradition or stopped following it. Vedic Rishis keeping in mind the future needs of people especially when people will drift away from studying of Vedas designed the concept of Kuldevta. Vedic Rishis very well knew that in future people under the influence of Kali Yuga would not be learning Vedas. To help them overcome the difficulties of not learning Vedas, the Rishis designed beeja mantras. Chanting of the beeja mantras helped people overcome difficulties. The mantra was primarily conceived to overcome all sort of weaknesses. When weaknesses were removed people attained peace and prosperity. Kuldevta/Kuldevi translates into family deity and every family have their own Kuldevta and Kuldevi for their "Kul" which is from generations and does not changes. This is the God or the Goddess whom one family (and extended family which is known as 'kul') are worshipping for generations and do all holy and auspicious work after worshipping their own Kuldevta. On all occasions the KulDevta is remembered, worshipped, and offerings made to him. #TheShivaTribe During such occasions no one will eat until the food for the KulDevta has been kept aside. It is a belief that your family deity is watching over you, protecting you from harm. Kuldevta pooja is a way for families to show their appreciation for all the blessings the deity has showered upon them and hope that he/she continues to do so. Today many people are not aware of their Kuldevta. They have lost contact with their roots. Most of the difficulties such people face can be alleviated if they can identify the Kuldevta and IshtaDevta. IshtaDevta can be identified with the help of a horoscope. Seek the help of astrologer. In case one is not sure of who your Ishta Devta is, in that case an individual should try to find out his special affinity to any particular deity. Your Ishta Devta is the one you get drawn to every time you visit temple, every time you pray or think of God, you feel a certain natural urge to be close that deity. You know He is the one, and accept him as your Ishta Devta!! Jai Maa Kali ~ Jai Shiva Shankar!!

Everything in life has its both good and bad side, it only depends whether you are an optimist or a pessimist!

ૐ The Shiva Tribe ૐ's photo.

Everything in life has its both good and bad side, it only depends whether you are an optimist or a pessimist! Every morning, we either choose to wake up grumpy or wake up with a positive outlook. The choice Is entirely yours. You all can develop that skill. Yes, Anything is possible. Lead a life of positivity. The only thing You can control is your attitude towards life. Even the longest journey begins with a single steps. Surround yourself with positive people. You are only as good as the company you keep. If you’re around gloomy people, there’s a good chance you won’t be smiling. Surround yourself with supportive friends who have positive outlooks. Give love, receive love, and invest in love. It’s the greatest force in the universe. It’s a treasure that people would give anything for, yet it costs nothing to give and receive. Because where you invest your love, you invest your life. Be realistic, and expect ups and downs. Just because you’re an optimist doesn’t mean you’re not going to have bad days. Life isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best – the former makes you sensible, and the latter makes you an optimist. Inspire yourself with a smile and positive reminders. If you expect the worst, the worst will happen. If you let things bother you, they will. But if you smile, you’ll feel better. So keep your head high, your chin up and most importantly smile, because life is a beautiful thing and there is so much to smile about!!! Love, Happiness & Blessings ~ Jai Shiva Shankar ~ Om Namah Shivaya!!

IN RESONANCE WITH YOU!!

IN RESONANCE WITH YOU!!
Lord Shiva: beloved of millions, here in A typical Siva calender photo. Note the markings on the forehead where the third eye is..its common to see people worship the image, and then, mark the God with vermillion, sandal,or other auspicious "tika' before applying it on ones own forehead...a sort of resonance ritual..
what is most interesting ,is, that in similar method, sometimes you will note people putting a little food offering at the lips of the photo, called "bhog lagana" before they partake in grace for themselves....How wonderful and vibrant are the mysteries of indian Mysticism, the intensity of the bhakta's faith and love:)
Aum Namah Shivaya!!

Keep putting out good. It will come back to you tenfold in unexpected ways.

12 JYOTIRLINGAS OF LORD SHIVA's photo.

Keep putting out good. It will come back to you tenfold in unexpected ways. When you are positive and you put out good this affects everyone and everything around you, and the same is true for negative emotions and actions. You never know when a good deed on your part may be returned many times. Life is hard enough as it is, and doing good can make the world a better place and help others who really need it.
Eventually you will need help, and if you are someone who has made a habit of helping others you may be surprised at the results when you are down. A simple smile, a kind deed, or even a thank you that makes life a little better for someone else may be returned in unexpected ways. When you are positive and you put out good this will come back to you, often in ways that you never expected. Every kind act that you perform and positive action that you take will be returned tenfold, and the same is true of negative actions and unkind emotions. Fill your life with positivity and you will find that the entire world seems to be positive as well. If you have a negative mindset then you will only see the negative side of life, and this will come back to you exponentially as well. When you put out good your life will be filled with unexpected blessings, but if you put out negativity then you can expect this in return instead!

Buddha now

Buddha now
“Suppose there is a mountain, a flag on top of which reads ‘I have reached the summit’, and you can read this flag from the bottom. But when you actually climb the mountain, reach the summit, you read a last word, ‘now’,
I have reached the summit now. The ancients have already made you read the flag; you are Buddhas, you are Consciousness, you are children of God, you constitute Shivas. But you still need to climb, unveil, become that Oneness which is promised, do you understand? so, it is that when you start, it is always because you feel God is not, but by the time you reach God , IS.”

Lord Shiva, is called the God of destruction. But what does He destroy?

Shail Gulhati: Shiva and Mysticism.'s photo.
Lord Shiva, is called the God of destruction. But what does He destroy?
Now, tell me, said the yogi, how am I supposed to destroy the world?
By opening your third eye, wherever you shift your gaze then, turns to ashes.
Mythologically, said the yogi. Now, listen to the philosophy.
At the personal level, the destruction of illusions, makes the meditator enlightened. This is the opening of Gyan Chakshu, this is the whole path of the yogis. The gaze of the discriminating mind destroys wrong previous concepts and illusions. Whatever scriptures such a man reads, he interprets rightly, whatever situation he encounters, he understands. The mind of spiritual discrimination destroys falsehood and delusion.
At the transpersonal or cosmic level, I am a paradox however. My capability is to destroy the whole cosmic play. But, if I use only half my power, to destroy the destructive processes themselves, verily, I become the course for expansion. So using half your power doubles your strength. It also takes double your strength to use half your power. Meditate upon this, said the yogi.
The great significance of destruction is primarily in the end of an individual ego and therefore merger into God consciousness. This is the philosophy.
As far as mythology is concerned, shivji holds the power to destroy the Universe he Himself created. but he does not do that. He weeds out the unwanted parts, just as a loving gardener would...
Shivji is the only God , who is, indeed prayed to 'take away ' things, not just supplicate them. He is 'Hara' the taker away.
So too, He is amazingly prayed for taking away things also.Take away pride, selfishness, greed, hatred etc. Aum Namah Shivaya!!

ONE

Shiva Poetry by Shail Gulhati's photo.
ONE
Day and night,
black and white,
death
or then life.
We think in pairs
O Lord,
even when it comes to
you
and your Bride.
The One’s appearance is dark,
the other the source of light.
We think of Yin and Yang,
Wu and Wei,
the Moon, or then the Sun.
Natraj Shiva! Ah there, in dance,
with Shakti.
But you turn, to always say,
“Not two, but One."

CAN HARMONY BE " HAR KA MONEY" ,THE CINTAMANI JEWEL OF SHIV SHANKER?
“Tell me”, asked the Yogi, “what is the best system towards progressive growth, what should determine the apex?”
“My Lord, history tells us that we have had kings, elected representatives, even intellectuals ruling us, many of whom, were just. But everytime the system collapsed. Nothing worked”.
“Why not use a system of pure merit?” Asked the Yogi.
“If we have a system of pure merit to rule, it sounds ideal, but is destined to collapse also”.
“Why?” Asked the Yogi.
“Because my Lord, what will happen to those of little merit, where shall they go?”
“Those of the highest merit can devote themselves to helping those of the lowest, can’t they? “Asked the Yogi, “leaving those of the second highest merit to rule?”
“Agreed my Lord, but when those of the low merit are pushed up by those of the highest merit, where will those of the second highest merit go?”
“Down, of course! “Said the Yogi.
“Why, my lord, what would be their fault?”
“It is not a question of fault”, said the Yogi, “it is a simple law of Nature, what goes up, must come down.”
“Then, change the law of Nature my lord, else even your angels shall be condemned to fall again.”
“How”, said the Yogi, “can we change the law of Nature?”
“Replace the word merit with harmony my lord. Those of the highest harmony will teach those of the lowest. When they grow up, there shall be no problem in their acceptance. Harmony always accepts harmony. It is not linear only, like merit, it has no top slot. No apex. It spreads in all directions, it dances into new spaces? Teach us to be harmonious, my Lord.”
and Shiva smiled that the snake had learnt the lesson well.
NOTE: Cintāmaṇi (Sanskrit; Devanagari: चिन्तामणि) is a wish-fulfilling jewel within both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, equivalent to the philosopher's stone (Paras Pathar) in Western alchemy

Lord Shiva is the spiritual master of the entire world by showing how to worship the supreme. He is a peaceful, free from enmity, always satisfied in himself. Although he has nothing to attain in this material world, he is always engaged for the benefit of everyone in this universe. and tries to help the living beings make spiritual advancement.

Although he has nothing to attain in this material world, he is always engaged for the benefit of everyone in this universe. and tries to help the living beings make spiritual advancement. "Any person who is surrendered to Lord Vishnu is very dear to me.” He said to The sons of the King Pracinibarhi who were going to practice austerities to worship Lord Vishnu and while searching for a suitable place happened to find Lord Shiva. Shiva is the protector of the pious and those of gentle behaviour. So a devotee of Krishna does not disrespect Lord Shiva, but worships him as the greatest of devotees of Lord Krishna.  A Krishna bhakta also prays to Lord Shiva, asks Shiva to assist him in attaining the favour of Lord Krishna. In the Ramayana, Lord Rama says “With joined palms I lay before you another secret doctrine: without adoring Shankara, man cannot attain devotion to Me!" Jai Sri Ram ~ Hari Om Tat Sat Namah Shivaya!

Many of the Gods and Goddesses have their own vehicles, mounts or vahanas that comprise various types of animals and birds. there is a deep inner significance behind their choosing particularly those vahanas. Sometimes, the deity is shown mounted on or riding their vehicle, while at other times, the vahana is shown by the deity's side. Many times, this vehicle is also represented by way of symbolisms, as a divine attribute. Though the vahana appears to be independent, it is part and parcel of the deity's presence and has an emblematic inner meaning to it. Sometimes, the deity's vehicle may also symbolise the evil force, which the deity embodies. Goddess Durga uses lion as the vahana since she is a female general who fights fierce wars. Durga is the supreme Warrior Goddess, the complete embodiment of Shakti and the Mother of all the beings in this world and beyond. Durga is depicted with ten arms, each holding a weapon, riding a lion. Though an aspect of Parvati Herself, Durga is considered fiercer and much more powerful than the calm and serene Parvati. Durga is said to be extremely beautiful and radiant, her form filled with stunningly brilliant aura. She manifested in order to kill the most terrible demon, Mahishasura. Each God gives Her their weapon in order to enhance Her strength and powers. Shiva gives Her His trident; Vishnu, his discus; Indra, his thunderbolt, Brahma, the kamandalu; Kubera, his mace and so on. The very origin of her such incarnation as Durga is mainly due to her celestial mount lion. The lion is usually assorted with her in every literature, art sculpture etc. As the symbol of divine energies embodies by the great goddess, who is stated to have been born out of the Tejas of all the gods in order to slaughter the demon, the lion express the heroism and prowess necessary to defeat the asurik forces contrasting with the Hindu dharma. The lion can be even taken to represent the heroism and strength required from the sadhak to enter the dangerous path of Shakta tantric religious practises, full of pitfalls for the uninitiated. Lion is considered to be animal full of Shakti, with a devaic and sattvik being of rhythmic movement. The lion acted in all ages as the celestial vehicle of Mahadevi. It represents the lordly power in general and the lordly powers of beasts in particular. The image of lion expressing the sense of rhythm is thought to be made up Prakriti Maya Shakti. Therefore the lion partakes in the divine essence of the great goddess, the transforming energy of the universe. Lion is symbol of strength, braveness, life , day killing darkness and cosmetic waves like heat and fire. Durga depicted as riding on a lion or a tiger tiger symbolizes unlimited power. Durga riding a tiger indicates that She possesses unlimited power and uses it to protect virtue and destroy evil. The lion is a symbol of uncontrolled animalistic tendencies (such as anger, arrogance, selfishness, greed, jealousy, desire to harm others etc.) and Her sitting on it reminds us to control these qualities, so that we are not controlled by them! Jai Mahadevi ~ Jai Maa Shakti!!

Out of the 108 names of Lord, one name is Shri Pashupati. Lord of the animals

ૐ The Shiva Tribe ૐ's photo.

Om Shri Pashupataya Namah! ~ Out of the 108 names of Lord, one name is Shri Pashupati. Lord of the animals. Most benevolent, compassionate and kind lord who protects them, and gives them succour, removing their troubles and giving them shelter. "Rudra lives in forests and jungles. He is called Pashupati, lord of wild beasts" ~ Shatapatha Brahmana. Shivas flock comprises all living beings, including men. The difference between beasts, men and God is only one of their role. The various aspects of beings are present in varying degrees in all forms of existence. No God is without animality, no animal without humanity, and no man without a part of divinity. These components are distinguishable in all men ~ pati, pashu and pasha. Those whom the pati (master) element is dominant are wise, close to gods, understand the rules of divine activity and creation and take part in it. Men in whom animal element predominates are called pashu (cattle). The abstract element pasha (bond) expresses the unity and interdependence of all forms of life. "I am the lord of the animals. The courageous Titans, asuras, can only be destroyed if each of the gods and other beings assumes his animal nature'. 'It's not a disgrace to recognise your animal nature. Only those who practise the rites of the brothers of the animals, the Pashupatas, will be able to overcome their animal nature'. It was thus that all gods and Titans recognised that they were the lords cattle and that he is known by the name of Pashupati, the lord of animals ~ Shiva Purana Rudra Samhita. "All the divinities are called Pashupatas (brothers of the beasts), since they belong to the flock of Pashupati. All those who consider the lord of animals as their God become brothers of the beasts' ~ Linga Purana. "The most sacred Pashupati Yoga, the yoga of the brothers of animals, through which the unity of living beings is realised, was taught by me and it should always be practised" ~ Lord Shiva in Linga Purana! Jai Shri Pashupatinath!!

There is none equal or superior to Shivaji

12 JYOTIRLINGAS OF LORD SHIVA's photo.

"There is none equal or superior to him. He is the ultimate goal of saintly people, yet chooses for himself a ghastly way of life. This is because he wishes to remind us that body is but destined to be food for dogs. Those unfortunate people who delight in decorating it, don't understand Shiva, who is ever absorbed in self bliss" Bhagwatam. Shiva, MahaYogi, great Tapasvi, who has gained highest perfection and mediation and austerity. An austere ascetic Digambara, body covered with ashes and matted hair, teaching men by his own example the power to be acquired by renunciation & suppression of passions. Shiva is the epitome of detachment, while still maintaining a deep love for his family and the world. Through Vairagya, we can learn to control our emotions as Shiva does.
.We must learn to keep emotions in check, so that they do not overpower us and control our lives. And we must strive to achieve inner peace and outward calm. For Shiva, detachment means being calm internally as well as externally. Renunciation is always in the mind, the mind does not turn outwards but inwards. Too much attachment leads to suffering. Shiva was so attached to Sati, when she died he was utterly devastated, his personal suffering nearly destroyed the world. His grief turned to rage. In his anger he began to dance. The ferocity of his dance had a near catastrophic effect upon Earth. It was lord Vishnu’s presence of mind that Shiva could be calmed down enough to reconnect with his Vairagya, avoiding further destruction. Hence the goal is to strike the right balance between detachment and emotions, helping you move away from adverse situations, away from brooding and worry, but toward a state of deeper awareness and indeed, compassion for yourself and others.!
