Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience. Be happy, Don’t stress. Do your very best. Appreciate each step. Forget the rest. For everything there is a season and the right timing. Stress causes major health problems in our lives ; heart disease, anxiety, sleep deprivation, weight problems, and depression. When life gets crazy busy, you might not have time for week-long meditation, yoga retreats and vacations. But you can learn to be in the moment. Instead of being in a stressful task-switching state of mind, let everything else go, and just be in the moment with just one task at a time. There will always be a next task, because they’re never ending. Slow down. Breathe. Review your commitments and goals. Put first things first. Let go of controlling what can’t be controlled.
Fear is causing you to be stressed, not external factors like your job or family issues. Those external factors are just a part of life. Your fears are based on some fantasy in your head about how things are supposed to be. You have an image in your head that you’re going to be perfect, be comfortable all the time, and succeed on all fronts. Instead, let go of control. Be OK with chaos and uncertainty, and trust that things will work out. Accept people and things just the way they are.
When things are getting really stressful, take 5-10 minutes to take a walk and clear your mind. A short walk does wonders. Perform short mindfulness practices. You don’t have to meditate for 30 minutes. You can pay attention to your breath for 60 seconds. You can watch your thoughts about concerns, fears, judgments, doubts, and ideals for a minute ; recognize that these thoughts are simply thoughts; you don’t need to believe them or react to them.! 🌈🌲👁🕉🍁📿🔱🐍🎨💀🌷🍂🌙🐚🍃🔆💖🌈🔔⌛️🐘🌀🌻🙏🏻🍂🌿

Hinduism is deep rooted in the practice of Yoga and meditation.

Hinduism is deep rooted in the practice of Yoga and meditation. According to Hinduism, Yoga refers to the integration or union of a person’s own consciousness with the Supreme Reality or in other words Cosmic Consciousness.
Yoga was one of the greatest gifts provided by the worship of Lord Shiva to the world and received by people from all walks of life amidst diversity. According to Yogic tradition, Lingam is a perfect ellipsoid. The first form of creation is an ellipsoid. Apparently the final form before dissolution is also a Lingam. Modern cosmologists are of the view that the core of every galaxy is in the form of ellipsoid. Yoga always maintains that the first and final form is a Lingam. If a person meditates, his/her energies will naturally take the form of Lingam. As the first and final form before dissolution is also a Lingam, Lingam is considered as a gateway to the beyond.
In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is considered as the Supreme Truth. It is said that the Supreme Being appeared before Lord Brahma and Vishnu in the form of a ‘pillar of fire’, which had no end and beginning. This mention can be found in Puranas like Brahmanda purana, Shiva Purana & Linga Purana. It is one among the many symbols of the Brahman, the Supreme. So the linga form of Shiva also signifies the column of bright light. That linga was surrounded by thousands of flames and hot like fire of death. Without any beginning and end, that was free from decay and growth.
Also known as Lingodbhava, the Linga Purana also supports this interpretation of lingam as a cosmic pillar, symbolizing the infinite nature of Shiva. According to Linga Purana, the lingam is a complete symbolic representation of the formless Universe Bearer – the oval shaped stone is resembling mark of the Universe and bottom base as the Supreme Power holding the entire Universe in it.! 🌿👁🌀🕉🌲🙏🏻

Makara Jyothi & Makaravilakku - today 14 January 2019

!!! Swamy Saranam !!!
Makara Jyothi & Makaravilakku
There is misconception about the terms Makaravilakku and Makarajyothi. Many of the devotes coming to Sabarimalai still don't know what the difference between Makara Jyothi and Makaravilakku. They still believe that both are same.
What is Makarajyothi?
Makarajyothi is nothing but the Cyrus star that appears in the Sky, Makaram the 6 month of Malayalam calendar and Jyothi mean star, Makara Jyothi is the star that appears in Makaram 1st of Malayalam calendar. Makara Jyothi appear after the Deeparadhana in Sabarimalai in south of the sreekovil (Sanctum Sanctorum) on the 1st of Makaram month of Malayalam calendar. It has nothing to do with the religion Cyrus star appears every day after the sun set, but on this day in which the Panthalam royal family brings Ayyapan's Ornaments (Thiru abharanam) to Sabarimalai temple, the star symbolises the presence of Lord Ayyappa the star symbolising Ayyappa is called Makara Jyothi
What is Makaravilakku?
Makaravilakku, is a part of a religious ritual that is practised by the tribes in the forest of Ponnambalamedu (the place where Makaravilakku appears). There is nothing inhuman in the Makaravilakku,, no God or goddess is performing this. It has been a practise for more than 100's of year by the tribes. Actually there is an earthen platform in the Ponnambalamedu, the place is not open to the public it is under the control of Forest department of Kerala.
When the Cyrus star - thekekara star appears in the sky on Makaram 1st, these tribes too perform their rituals in the Ponnambalamedu.
Like in the temple of Sabarimala they also perform Arathi encircling the fire around the Idol. It is performed by lighting camphor and is circled around the platform and towards Sannidhanam.
This lamp or fire is what we see from the Sabarimala temple and call it Makara Jyothi but the fire in the Ponnambalamedu is the actual Makaravilakku
