Q: How does the individual work when their individuality has already dissolved?

Q: How does the individual work when their individuality has already dissolved?
Guruji: These are two dimensions. We live an individual life and at the same time we also lead a bigger life. When you sleep what is happening? Your individuality has dissolved into cosmic nothingness. When you wake up, you have your roles to play. Similarly when you meditate, what happens? You are dissolved. And when you come out of meditation into action what happens? Individuality exists.
So life is a combination of the individual and the universal. There is one aspect in us which is universal.
In the Upanishads there is a beautiful story. It says: two birds are sitting on one branch. One is watching, another is eating. Similarly inside you, there is one thing that is universal, that is just watching, that simply exist. There is another thing that acts: the individual self. Are you form or formless? You are both! Your body is form, mind is formless. Right? Someone may say, ‘How is it possible? Either you are form or formless. How can you be both?’ This is wrong logic.
=======================
You have to create the much needed space for someone to grow and you should persuade them and not impose your ideas on them.
=======================
Have the courage and determination to achieve those dreams that are dear to you. Many a time people who dreamt big were ridiculed, but they remained strong to achieve their goals. Do something creative. Not a year should go by without your doing something interesting and creative. -
=======================
If you know that joy from expectations is lesser than unexpected joy, that is sufficient. You need not try to achieve this, it happens effortlessly.
=======================
Longing should never end. If longing ends then love also ends. That is why longing and love are infinite.

Q: How does being spiritual add beauty to a person?
Guruji: You know, people who are on the spiritual path, they feel young and alive all the time. They overcome senility. This is one thing for sure.
People who meditate, who engage in seva, who have a goal in their life and who live for others and not only themselves; you will see that they have a glow in their life, and on their face.
If you look at Mahatma Gandhi, or Nelson Mandela, you see that there is a glow in them. That is because their life is dedicated to something bigger. In Bhagavat Gita Lord Krishna says, 'One who comes to me will never have this (jara) old age. There is no death for them and they feel liberated'.
Coming to the master is not being bound but feeling the inner freedom. It is not slavery, it is mastery over oneself. It is freedom from our own mind; Freedom from craving and aversions; Freedom from feeling of 'I can do this' and 'I cannot do this'. So those who take refuge in me, strive for liberation.
