Being Indian does not give us the exclusivity or ownership to Shaivism.
People who have been seeking to find answers and thus discover Shaivism are indeed more fortunate that those who are merely born into it, for they have understood the value and treasure the ideals and knowledge very much.
A Shaivite does not hold any ownership, A Shaivite, in fact, becomes responsible, and liable, in living up to the ideals of the philosophy, and are thus encouraged to keep discovering, and to be a guide for those who seek to know about Shaivism so that they too can start discovering on their own.
We Shaivites do not teach or impose teachings. We do not tell people what to do, or how to do things. Shaivites would tell stories of Lord Shiva, and give questions one could ponder upon and reflect. We learn from each other, we all learn from the universe.
We are, and will always be discovering something beautiful everyday.
