Why is Lord Shiva being God Himself, always still trying to meditate? who does he meditate on, and why?
Of course, one thing is that since he believes in a free will for allbeings, he lets them choose thier actions. But this sometimes creates negativity because of someone who misuses that free will. So the great God does meditate for positivity, for benefactions, for joy and happiness and peace for the Universe, despite the wrong doings of some.
And then, the deeper philosophy: Shivji is not just the creator of tantras and spiritual practices, he is the great follower of his own principles also. He leads from the front. The Kashmir Shaiv Darsana : Kashmir Shaivism in the Siva sutras says in the very first sutra: Caitanyam Atma- The nature of all beings is pure luminousity, or , that shiva is the centre in all hearts. And thus, when Shivji Himself Meditates on caitanya Atma, it creates a great welfare of all atmas. Aum Namah Shivaya!
