A point to ponder on a Sunday
When was the last time you went out of your way to help the unfortunate?
There was once a saying by James Yen - We do not help the unfortunate because of pity, we help them because we see their potential to be like us.
In the same token, when you see a person who has fallen, you stretch your hand out and lift them up so that they can walk again.
Everyone has a purpose in this beautiful universe, and those who have not met their purpose, they are the ones who are unfortunate.
It is not limited to the weak or the poor. You might find someone who is wealthy and healthy, yet visibly or invisibly lost.
Sit with them, listen to their stories, and just listen. Ask them for their dream, ask them for their goals in life. To help, you facilitate more than giving advice. It is when they ask for advice that you give based on your best capacity. It is when we ask questions that we motivate others and excite them.
Om Namah Shivaya, and a happy Diwali
