It is situated near historical Mubarak Mandi Complex of Dogra rulers near Chowk Chabootra Jammu. It is said that Guru Sahib while returning to Punjab via Kashmir stayed here. In this small Gurudwara there is a 3 feet marbled statue of Guru Nanak Dev ji installed by Rajput Raja Maharaja Partap Singh. During Singh Sabha Movement when statues were removed from Gurdwaras this statue got unnoticed thus got intact. Very few people know about this statue. Representing the rich religious fervor of the local inhabiatants of Jammu and Kashmir, the sacred Shrine of Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Devji is one of the prominent religious sites of the state. Located in the upper part of market close to the famous complex of Mubarak Mandi, Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Devji attracts several Devotees from far and wide. Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Devji is an important religious site of the Jammu and Kashmir pilgrim tourism. The sacred sanctorum of Gurdwara Guru Nanak Devji houses a marvelous huge statue of Guru Nanak. Constructed out of pure white marble, the idol of Sri Guru Nanak is three feet high.  Idol worship is prohibited in Sikhism.. this statue needs to be removed. its totally a disrespect to the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji who was against idol worship..

    It is certainly not a disrespect.All religious saints were Hindu only till Guru Gobind Ram ji established Khalsa Panth and then got renamed as Guru Gobind Singh ji.Even till 1922 a daily AARTI was performed at Hari Mandir Amritsar and all Hindu idols were placed there like in any Mandir.Guru Nanak Dev ji was also a Hindu saint and preached total nobility and was one of the few purest and divine souls ever came to earth.It was only by British who created differences and divided us and got the Hindu idols removed from Hari Mandir. These are facts which are well known but not preached today for political and other benefits of some people.
