Over 60,000 pilgrims pay obeisance at Merhada Mata
News (11.10.2013) #UDHAMPUR: Over 60,000 pilgrims hailing from different parts of Udhampur and Jammu districts paid obeisance at the scared temple of Merhada Mata situated at hillock in between village Barmeen and Ghordi of tehsil Ramnagar during first six Navratras.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Akhand Jyoti of Marhada Mata remained for the public darshan at village Ghordi on the occasion of first Navratra and was carried to Merhada Mata on the occasion of 2nd Navratra early in the morning followed by thousands of devotees in their colourful dresses amidst chanting bhajan and kirtan.
Similar Akhand Jyoti of Merhada Mata, which was carried out to Merhada Mata on the occasion of 4th Navratra by the villages of Barmeen, remained for public darshan at village Barmeen upto 3th Navratra. Besides, Akhand Jyotis of the Adobe were also taken out to the holy temple of Merhada Mata from Upper Barmeen, Pipple, Kaldi, Panj Garian and Gharrian followed by thousands of devotees.
Various social organizations have arranged free pandals at various places including Ghordi, Barmeen, Satyalta, Nalla Ghouran, Bekhater, Ganpati, Gaula and Merhada Mata.
