Shaivism does not, and should not create fear to its devotees. Shaivism motivates and creates love.

Today's lessons presented are on the practical, lesser known side of Shaivism. Everyone knows the stories, everyone knows the symbolisms, but does everyone know the practical side as well?

I came to appreciate Shaivism because of the practical side. I see how it works, I see how Shaivism addresses practical life without essentially dictating or interfering.

Shaivism does not, and should not create fear to its devotees. Shaivism motivates and creates love.

When people follow Shaivism as per stated of a priest or of others who do not follow the concept of meditation and enlightenment, they miss out on the larger, more intricate picture.

It is all about living and being happy.

It is all about embracing all that is reality, rather than closing one eye to any of them.

Shaivism is for the open mind. People who say what is wrong because of the story he knows, has not sat down to realize and reflect.

I have found more enlightened beings who grew up from another faith, but discovered and treasured Shaivism because they read around, asked around, and discovered more than what is being offered.

You are not born into Shaivism. You discover and treasure it.

Having a picture, praying to Shiva, or going to the temple does not make you a Shaivite, if you cannot even live the concept and philosophy.

And for those who are too focused on the doctrine, rather than understanding the Philosophy, then that is more of a scholar, than being a Shaivite.

This is quite the same as a person who has read everything about Gandhi, knows the dates, celebrates the rituals as per stated on the official books. But to be Gandhi, one lives like Gandhi.

We might not know the birthdates and exact places, but what is more important is living the values

Om Namah Shivaya
