* Narmadeshwar Shivling Importance *
Narmadeshwar Shivlings are obtained from the Sacred river Narmada on the bank of #Omkareshwar #Jyotirling in Madhya Pradesh .Many Vedic Scriptures propound that the natural Narmada Banalingas are self-manifest respresentations of Lord Shiva. One need not to do Pran Pratishtha for this particular linga as Shiva said he himself resides in Narmadeshwar linga.
Narmadeshwar Shivlings are considered very auspicious as that are made naturally in the river bed Narmada. It is believed that where there is Narmadeshwar Shivling Lord Shiva resides there.The “Siddhanta Sekhara” states that the Bana Lingas picked up from the Holy River Narmada have been worshipped already by the Gods, especially by the Guardian Deities (Loka Pala) and the Sacred Stones are still said to contain the impress of such worship. There are Bana Lingas carrying the different marks characteristic of these Gods :
(1) Conch Shell mark on top (Samkhabha Mastaka) indicates it has been worshipped by Lord Maha Vishnu, the Protector of the Cosmos
