WHEN TIME STOOD STILL

Photo: WHEN TIME STOOD STILL

A beautiful picture of Shivji with unusually long jatas.Shiva's hair has always been a trademark.
So does that mean longer hair is 'more' of Shiva in His own Tattva?
Perhaps, yes.
Hair is an integral part of One's physical growth, but with Shivji the Mahayogi, it also symbolises Deep Dhyana, meditation, and time itself.
It takes time for hair to grow!
Therefore, such a picture does make me think of the endlessly still time that Shiva spent when Sati had passed away. Sitting silently by Himself, pondering into His deepest Self, and into the greatest mysteries of Life itself. Shiva the Yogi reflecting upon Shiva the Tattva.Consciousness embodied in form meditating upon consciousness in its pure essence. This, is like a recharge of the Battery. Swami Vivekananda affirmed that when Yogis feel they are depleted of creative vision, or even physical energy, they sit down in the deepest dhyana and completely rejuvenate themselves.
Aum Namah Shivaye.
