Lord Hanuman is a great devotee of Lord Rama and an influential character in the Ramayana.

Lord Hanuman is a great devotee of Lord Rama and an influential character in the Ramayana. He is a manifestation of Lord Shiva and had dedicated his life to the restoration of Dharma on Earth. In Ramayana His main purpose is to help Lord Rama defeat Ravana and rescue Maa Sita. Known for his bravery and strength, Hanuman ji overcame all his enemies.
One story that is famous in the Ramayana is the ‘burning of Lanka by Hanuman’s tail’. After Maa Sita was abducted by Ravana, Lord Rama sent Hanuman to look for her. On his way Hanuman met Sampati, the brother of Jatayu who was murdered by Ravana. Sampati told him that Maa Sita was held captive at Ashokvatika in Lanka.
Hanuman Ji went to meet Maa Sita and in anger, uprooted many trees in Ashokvatika. Then Hanuman Ji made a seat from his long tail and sat on it, and requested Ravana to free Sita. This enraged Ravana who was angered by Hanuman’s behavior. Ravana ordered his slaves to set fire to Hanuman’s tail. When they did that, Hanuman’s tail became longer and longer. Everyone was surprised by this and Hanuman flew away from them. With his tail on fire , he burnt the whole of Lanka. Sita Ji came to know about this and prayed to Lord Agni. Lord Agni made sure that even if Hanuman’s tail was burning, he wouldn’t feel any pain. Worrying that the fire would harm Sita, Hanuman Ji visited Ashokvatika and saw that she was unharmed. Then he went back to Lord Rama, who then was convinced that he would wage war on Lanka to free Sita. ! 🔥🐒🔥
