What are the benefits of Kali worship?

When asking questions about Hinduism, non-Hindus (and some ignorant Hindus) should be careful using the terms and names of Hindu characters and terminology.

The word “Kali” itself has several meanings :-

1). The Color of Dark (not blackish but anything that has dark tone such as dark blue which is common skin color for a lot of Hindu Gods and Goddesses).

2). (State of) Ignorance like what humans could experience. This could also include Age of Ignorance or Kali Yugam.

3). The Demon Kali.

4). The Goddess Kali

So when you ask what is the benefits of worshipping “Kali”, I could answer you from all these four definitions. The answers could be :

1). Nothing. In Hinduism, the color of your skin or anything else has no significant to worship but there are some restriction on not to use certain colored clothing during some ritual.

2). Nothing. Ignorance is your prison. There is no benefit from being ignorant.

3). Worshiping the Demon Kali could allow you some benefits which the Demon is strong in such as gambling, vice and alcohol consumption/selling and distribution. I strongly advise against it as these could lead to some serious Karmic debts which you may not get out from.

4). Worshiping Goddess Kali is beneficial especially to Women who are strong, aggressive and has leadership qualities. The Goddess is strong as well but take note that She does not cross the social line and functions within it for the benefit of the Society and the Followers.
