Supposedly, Shiva and Parvati’s union was the first love marriage in the whole universe. Worshipping Shiva and Parvati with love and reverence will help you find your soul mate. Many Hindu girls observe fast on Monday and worship Shiva to get a good husband. We see many women observing fasts to worship Maa Parvati. Parvati ji is the luckiest woman on earth as she is beloved to Lord Shiva.
In Gujarati weddings, It is seen that when the wedding rituals take place and the bride and groom have been declared husband and wife, the other married ladies will whisper in the ears of the newly married couple, "Shiv Parvati nu Saubhagya“ - meaning ; may you be as successful as Lord Shiva and Parvati in your married life”.
Lord Shiva is unborn. He is immortal. However, Parvati ji took birth and also leaves the body and then Sati was born. She then destroyed her body in the pyre of fire of Yagya her father Daksha was performing. At the time of leaving her body, she asked Lord Narayana for a boon that may she attain love for Lord Shiva in every birth. “May Lord Shiva be my husband in every birth.”
Sati could not tolerate her husband’s insult at her father’s home. She quarrelled with her father. Then Sati immolated herself and was born as Parvati again. Thereafter, she performed extremely tough penance to attain Lord Shiva. See the love! This explains why they are an ideal couple. This is why the words of Lord Shiva and Parvati’s ideal marriage are uttered in a wedding. Parvati married Lord Shiva again and this cycle continues.
Lord Shiva wears a necklace of severed human heads/skulls. Whose heads are these? Skulls that are found in a crematorium? No. These are skulls of all the times Parvati has been born and left her body. This is why Lord Shiva and Parvati are the ideal couple and people worship them to find soul mates like the two.
