Today, the celebration of Mahashivaratri is being seen all over the country. Every Shiva devotee wants to get blessings by immersing in the devotion of his adoration. According to religious beliefs, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati were tied in marriage ceremony on the Chaturdashi date of the Krishna Paksha of the Falgun month.

1. According to religious beliefs, things related to the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are found in Puranas. First of all married mother Sati in Lord Shankar. Sati's father Daksh was not in favor of this marriage but Raja Daksh married daughter Sati to Lord Shankar on the request of father Brahma. Once Raja Daksh insulted Lord Shankar by not inviting him to Yagna. Being sad and angry with whom Mata Sati committed suicide by jumping into Yagna.
2. After this incident, Lord Shiva engaged in severe penance. Mata Sati was born as Mata Parvati at Parvatraj Himalayas. According to religious beliefs, there was terror of demon Tarkasur during that time. It was a boon that the slaughter of Tarkasur is possible only by the son of Lord Shiva. But Lord Shiva was engaged in penance for which all the gods planned the marriage of Lord Shiva and sent Kamdev to break the penance of Bholenath, but Kamdev himself was destroyed.
3. On request of all the gods, Lord Shiva agreed to marry Parvati. Lord Shiva reached Mata Parvati with a marriage procession, in this marriage procession, all kinds of people, ghosts, monsters, gods, animals, insects, spiders, ghosts and vampires reached the place of Mata Parvathi.
4. Devi Parvati's mother got scared after seeing such a marriage procession and she refused to hand over her daughter to Lord Shiva. Mata Parvati noticed that the situation was worsening so she requested Lord Shiva to come prepared according to our customs. After that, Lord Shiva bathed with divine water, prepared with flowers and took him to Mother Parvati's place. Then he went and got married.
5. During the marriage it is custom that the genealogy of the bride and bride is announced. In this marriage, the genealogy of Mata Parvati was bragged, but when the turn of Lord Shiva came, everyone was calm. Dev Rishi Narad had proclaimed the qualities of Lord Shiva while handling this matter according to religious beliefs.
