EVEN IN THE MOONLESS NIGHT

Shiva is always immersed in Dhyana

for the sake of the world

for all creatures

for all beings

for you for me.

He is always shining, resplendent in His knowing

of what next to do

for me, for you.

Sometimes it takes a while

before we see this is actually true

just like the full moon

takes a while longer than the rest

before it comes into full view.

Knowing this in their innermost faith

the bhaktas bhakti never wavers, never fades,

knowing even in the most moonless nights of all

the Lord pervades.

Yogis , yoginis, men, women,

Ghosts, goblins, even the pashus!

With a smile, He sings i'm Pashupati.

Sometimes, all are invited to see

how the cosmic rhythm is tapped onto the heart

of the Mother, earth, itself .

This is the timeless love of my Lord , for Ma, smiles Nandigan, the Tandava has just begun.

THE GREENING OF DIVINITY

We are all born from the one source, God.

But the world play is such that we forget our link with that source.We forget our Divinity. Over time, we feel that our soul has become like a dry, leafless tree...

this is called vilaya, the 'not knowing', interestingly matching with the western term "veiling" .

Our Divine nature is veiled. It may go on for lifetimes.

Then there is Anugraha, Shiva's look of love, called 'Grace' in the western terminology.

That one look greens us all over again, it waters our parched and thirsty soul, simply because we have been connected to our roots, once more.

The clouds of ignorance begin to flit away, and we begin to see the unveiling of Godness.

The great Sage Abhinavgupta of Kashmir , said this is the play of God with His bhakts, and the joy of the Bhakts with their God. In the end, all, is Shiva, God, or whatever you wish to call Him, just as it was in the beginning.

When we know our own connect with Divinity, that we can relax in that knowing. This is " Sahaj Avastha, " Relaxed always in your God consciousness"

The word" Relax" can also be a great mantra.

If we understand relaxing to be a calmness, not laziness.

Relax in the present, don't worry about the future or regret about the past.

We live life only in the present, only in the " Now", therefore if we were to live each present moment relaxed, it will give us a huge positive energy.

Shivji is the Adi Guru, the first Guru of the Universe, it is He who has trained and taught all the Sapt rishis, and generation by generation, lineage by lineage ,this teaching has come down to us. And yet he is called a destroyer.

Yes, He is a destroyer! Even in the role of a teacher, He destroys your sense of separation from Divinity; Just the same way a computer vendor may empty your disc space for better performance, he dumps all your junk collection because it is no longer needed. These junk messages may have resulted not only in personal misery, but also creating chaos and disharmony when we come together in collective societies. So too, Shiva is Hara, "He who takes away"

In taking away, He gives! Ignorance goes, Godhood returns.

LOVE AND LEARNING

And so, life began beautifully for Shiva and Parvati at Kailash.

The days were filled with fun and joy, love and learning. Shiva would often expound deep mystic secrets and teachings to Parvati, and many a time, the ganas would be part of the audience.

“Lord, what is the essence of mysticism?” asked Parvati, one day. “Is it in tapasya? Is it in japa? Reading the scriptures? Selfless service? What is it?”

“Just be,” smiled Shiva.

“Just be?”

“A great mysticism lies in this,

there is no greater.

Just be

the way God meant you

to be

and listen to His heartbeat

in all, that you see.

just, Be.”

GAN, MURUGAN

Ganesh,

as I pray,

I see Murugan in your face!

And when I turn to salute him,

I see you, seated with grace!

Scions of the holy! What is this play,

I turn to the Devi,

To hear Shiva say,

“ You two make us

feel

the animation of being,

to wit, we gave you birth,

but creation is a wonder,

more than the sense of it,

you were there,

and we found ourselves living,

and complete”.

Those who know, say that Devi Parvati and Lord Shiva are propitiated in fullness, only in the presence of both their children, Ganesh and Kartikeya (Murugan)
