Faith in God is the first step to God-realisation. It can do miracles. Any progress is not possible in the path of spirituality without unwavering faith. Lack of faith is a stumbling block in the path of realisation. Faith develops into Bhakti. Faith is the gateway to the Kingdom of God. Faith gives strength and removes anxieties and uneasiness of mind. Faith is an important qualification for an aspirant in the path of spirituality. No faith, no devotion. No faith, no Jnana. "He who is full of faith obtains wisdom, and he also who hath mastery over his senses; and having obtained wisdom he goeth swiftly to the Supreme Peace. But the ignorant, faithless, doubting self goeth to destruction; nor this world, nor that beyond, nor happiness is there for the doubting self. " Bhagwat Geeta.
Prahlada had unswerving faith on Shri Vishnu. And so he had His Grace. Meera had absolute faith on Shri Krishna. And so poison was changed into nectar. Namdev, a devotee of Lord Vithoba, was of lower caste and was influenced by Shri Krishna and became widely known for his devotional songs. His work is also mentioned in Sikh scriptures. Na dev has absolute faith on lord, he placed a dish of food before Vittobha (Lord Krishna at Pandharpur). And asked to eat it. He wept bitterly when the Idol kept quiet. After sometime Lord Krishna came out in the form of a boy and ate the food. The boy brought back the plate empty. The parents asked: "Who ate the food" Namdev proudly says "Lord ate the food". Such is the power of faith. It can work wonders. And Such is the degree of kindness the Lord exhibits for his true devotees!
