The month of Shravan or Sawan is dedicated to lord Shiva. It is considered to be the favourite month of lord Shiva. Each day during this month is auspicious for worshipping Mahadev Shambhu. It is starting on July 14 and will end on 12 August 2022 in northern India (Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar where Purnimanta Hindu Calendar is followed).
It will be celebrated from July 29, 2022 and ends on August 27, 2022 in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu where Amavasya Lunar Calendar is followed. It is the fifth month of solar year and is also known as Avani in the Tamil scriptures.
During this month, the cosmos is super charged with Shiva tattvas (Shiva elements) that purify the mind, the senses, the body and the self (Soul) through the rituals dedicated to Lord Shiva.
During the entire month of Shravan, fasting and offering prayers to Shiva is done. Since Mondays of this month are considered to be very auspicious , devotees fast on this day also known as Somvar Vrat.
Sawan is one month in the year which is prosperous and filled with auspiciousness. Since it is the most auspicious period, one can take advantage of it by performing Shravan Mass Shiv Puja to seek the blessings of lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Fasting for lord Shiva on Mondays during Shravan month helps in fulfillment of desires and removes obstacles by expelling negativity. One should worship Shivling with true devotion. A devotee should chant the Shiva Chalisa and perform regular aarti.
One should also perform ‘Rudra Abhishek’ on Shravan Somvar to get the blessings of lord Shiva. Also Chant maha mrityunjaya mantra. For those facing problems in marital life, offering milk to Shivlinga is believed to invoke the blessings of lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. ✨🕉🍃🌼🌈👁🌷🏔🍂🔱💟💀🍃🌙📿⌛️🌺🍂🐍🐚🔆🍃🌀🔔🌈🍂🌸🌻🏔✨
