Some see Him as Mahayogi, Some see Him as the householder,
Some see Him as Rudra the fierce, Some see Him as Bhairva the terrible one
Some see Him as Natraja, Some see Him as Bholenath,
Some see Him as Ardhanarishvara, Some see Him as Kailashpati,
Some see Him as Gangadhar, Some see Him as Mahakaal,
Some see Him as Umapati, Some see Him as Omkara.
Some see him as Krishna, Some see Him as Vishnu.
Some see Him as Rameshwara, Some see Him as Harihareshwara.
The devotees who have sung harihareshwar stotram have received true gyan that god is one, there is no difference between Shri Vishnu and Shiva. The true devotee will always respect and worship both of them. There are many incidences when Krishna or Rama or Vishnu or Shiva have instructed their devotees to respect the other as well. In reality Shiva and Vishnu are synonyms of one Parmatma.
In Shri Vishnu Sahastranam you find several names of Vishnu are Shiva's name and in Shiva Sahastranam the names and attributes of Vishnu are conferred to Shiva. To propitiate Shri Vishnu, Shivas worship is must and to appease Shiva, Shri Vishnu should be revered.
If Vishnu is the smiling, amazingly handsome and charming deity to the world, Shiva is his inner radiance, the power of yoga and supreme renunciation he upholds as Yogeshwara. If Shiva is the supreme ascetic, the most compassionate before the world, then Vishnu is his link to the world, his intellect and power of concentration - the inner greatness and goodness of Shiva. They are really complementary.
No matter in what form you try to seek Him, He is inside all of us. Just close your eyes and call Him, Shiva will guide you to your goal! Shiva the great ~ Devon Ke Dev Mahadev!
