A PART OF US
There is a part of us which is immortal. And we can all feel it..sense it..but we want to 'see' it. And that 'Seeing' is in a very diffrent realm, while still being here.
It is exactly when you know deep down inside about a certain strength that you do have , but which is hiding from you, and so you have to double your resolve to reclaim it. So too, a seeker from past lives knows he has to keep going till he reaches the goal.
We are speaking about Atma, called variously in different traditions. It is the same as consciousness- which is the divine energy that gives us all life, or existence itself. And yes it can be 'perceived' while we are in the body. In fact the great Swami Vivekananda said that physical death is no guarantee of Self realisation!
Although undoubtedly God is everywhere, We need to meet Him here, not there! He is a part of us, and we, a part of Him.
