PARA VACHA
The Bible teaches us about Genesis ( creation ) saying: In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth.
As to how, it further teaches: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
In the Parātrīśikā-vivaraṇa, the great Kashmiri rishi Abhinavgupta teaches that God creates the world through Para vacha- the highest speech.
And the rishis have always known this word to be ॐ . This is the Pranav- the very breath of God Himself, and through His breath He gives us birth, nourishment and ultimately a return to Him. When we add 'Namah Shivaye ' to Aum, we complete our salute to Him- I bow to Shiva who is ॐ Himself .
