THE MONTH OF PURATTASI is one of the most auspicious periods of the Vedic calendar. This month is considered ideal for thanking Lord Perumal or Balaji for preserving the Universe during Kali Yuga. It is believed that the Lord appeared on earth in this month. In this month, the Lord is worshipped by observing fasts on Saturdays as it is a favourite day for Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe strict Vrat and offer special prayers and rituals for Lord Vishnu on all Saturdays of Purattasi month. Vedicfolks is organising special rituals to Lord Vishnu as Lord Venkateswara for four Saturdays of Purattasi month.And also Navratri festival is observed this year in Purattasi month. Devotees of Lord Vishnu eat only vegetarian meal on Purattasi month.
Devotion to God especially during this Kaliyug period is important. This period which is characteristic of excessive greed for power, extreme hatred, jealousy, anger and intolerance have polluted the life of man in general all
over the world. We must strive, seek and maintain the following virtues:
1.truth
2. peace
3. righteousness
4. non violence.
