The word is derived from the Sanskrit word for arrow or 'shara'. Sharva means The Remover Of Sins. Lord Shiva is the Destroyer of all that is evil and sinful. Man has to keep fighting against evil in order to merge with the One. Sharva is destroyer of all miseries. “Shrinati iti Sharva” means one who annihilates that is called Sharva. Being affectionate to his devotees Lord Sharva destroys their sufferings. He turns into Sharva, if his Bhava form is worshipped.
