Shani dev is one of the nine planets who have control over one's body, says Hindu religion. Shani deva is the son of god Surya and mother chhaya. ALthough Surya's son are fair shani dev was born black because he was son of Chhyyaa, i.e shadow of surya devs wife Saranyu . Saranyu was unable to see surya dev because of his brightness. so she decided to meditate to obtain power to see her husbands face. So, she left her Chhaya (shadow) and went to mediattae secretly. At that time, Shani was born so he is black.
Surya dev never accepted him as his son because he was black. Because of the unequal behavior his father did between him and other brothers and sisters, Shani starte to hate his father and brothers. Shani became angry.
Lord Hanuman became his friend and solved his anger. Lord Mahadev also helped shani be cool and calm.
Every saturday, its day of our shani maharaj. Whoever offers him goods of his wish every saturday, shanidev will always bless them. Jaya Shanidev!!
