SABARIMALA: The hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa will be closed at 7 am on Tuesday, marking the conclusion of the two-month long annual pilgrimage season.
The Sreekovil of the temple will be closed at 7 am, after the customary darshan of the representative of Pandalam Valiyaraja. After the closure of the Sreekovil, the ceremony connected with the handing over of the key of the Sreekovil by the Melsanthi to the representative of the Pandalam Valiyaraja will be held in front of the Holy Steps of the shrine.
The ceremony will conclude after handing over the key back to the Melsanthi for conducting poojas at the temple for the next one year and a ‘panakizhi’ will be handed over to the Melsanthi in lieu of the conducting of the poojas. -newindianexpress
