That which purifies the impure mind is tapas.
"That which purifies the impure mind is tapas. That which cleanses the mind and destroys lust, anger, greed is tapas. That which steadies the mind and fixes it on the eternal is tapas. It leads to control of mind. To keep a balanced mind in all conditions of life, to bear insult, to be ever serene, contented and peaceful, to be cheerful in adverse conditions, are all forms of mental tapas." Parvati did Tapas, penance in forests to win Shiva. When Parvati began her penance, She worshipped Lord Shiva for years. As Parvati meditated fiercely, she realised the truth about herself. Parvati realised that that it was her destiny to become Shiva's Shakti. She realised that her love for Shiva transcended everything, because she was for all purposes Shiva's half. Both Shiva and Parvati were incomplete without each other. She realised she is the incarnation of Mahadevi, the Goddess, the Supreme Being. Adi ParaShakti, as according to The Devi Bhagwata Mahapurana, which suggests Adi Parashakti is the original creator, observer and destroyer of the whole universe. Parvati is Adi ParaShakti herself. Goddess of power and beauty, Durga. truly supreme spirit without form, Param Atman. Shakti, the source of all other goddesses, supreme, Absolute Truth, who didn't have any consort, but to bring back Lord Shiva in Sansar, she took birth in human form to marry him!
Navaratri is the most suitable occasion for doing intense Sadhana of Parvati, Shakti. These nine days are very sacred to Maa. Plunge yourself in Her worship. It is an occasion symbolising the victory of the higher, divine forces over the lower, negative qualities that find their expression in injustice, oppression, aggrandisement, greed, selfishness, hatred and a host of other undivine forces that add to the suffering of man. May Parvati, Maa Parashakti showers her blessings on each one of you . Wish you all a blessed and blissful Chaitra Navarātri! Jai ShivaShakti ~ Jai ShankarParvati!!
