BHULBHULAIYA
But if we are in fact related to cosmic energy, why do we forget everything to begin with? asked the snake.
The scheme of creation is such, that we suffer as it were, a spiritual concussion, when we are born, a sort of Bhulbhulaiya. It takes a while before we come out of our self indulgence, to the fact that we are eternal beings. This constitutes awakening; a second birth, a rediscovery of our consciousness. We call it dwija, the twice born. That is why you find that an enlightened being is not distinguished from another by acquiring a halo or growing wings. He is in the same body, in the same circumstances, but with a massive transformation about the understanding of life and things; because he has made contact with his eternal essence. It is now fairly irrelevant for him to know who he was in his previous birth, these are but distractions, spiritism. He turns to spirituality, because he has realised all he was previously. Not who, but what all he was; not who all humanity has raised, but what all. Indeed the realisation of our core essence is all that is relevant because it carries in it all the seeds sown before. Such a mind which is absorbed in complete consciousness, can fit together the pattern of all previous experience. It stands in the now, and takes up its function from here.
