Confession is the first step to absolve oneself of all your sins. Whatever you have done, take refuge in Shiva, pray for forgiveness and take an oath not to repeat it again. Sincere prayer is always accepted by Bholenath!

Confession is the first step to absolve oneself of all your sins. Whatever you have done, take refuge in Shiva, pray for forgiveness and take an oath not to repeat it again. Sincere prayer is always accepted by Bholenath! "Abandoning all Dharma, take refuge in Me alone. I will liberate you from all sins, do not grieve.” Lord Krishna also says in Bhagawat Geeta.
As discussed in previous post, sins are committed by mind, speech and body. Mansik (mental sins) or sins created by mind can be washed away by contemplation of God and meditation. Vachik (verbal sins) or sins created by speech are destroyed by Japa and chanting HIS Name constantly. Sraririk or physical sins are destroyed by pilgrimages, worship through Abhishek, yagnas and fasting etc. The wretch who constantly says, 'I am bound, I am bound' only succeeds in being bound. He who says day and night, 'I am a sinner, I am a sinner' verily becomes a sinner." "One should have such burning faith in God that one can say: 'What? I have repeated the name of God, and can sin still cling to me? How can I be a sinner any more? How can I be in bondage anymore?' If a man repeats the name of God, his body, mind and everything becomes pure. Why should one talk only about sin and hell, and such things? Say but once, 'O Lord, I have undoubtedly done wicked things but I won't repeat them. ' And have faith in His name." ~ Shri Ramakrishana
