ESWAROTH SREE MAHADEVA TEMPLE,KANNUR,KERALA
Om namasivaya
Sree mahadeva temple Eeswarth is an ancient temple more than 2500 years old. Ugramoorthy Siva is worshipped here. The idols or prathishtas here are Siva, ayyappan, kuttichathan(mahavishnu) and n
agam(snake). The temple is situated in a hill area. Every one can feel a particular calmness and quietness around the temple. It is 6 km.away from Mattannur and kuthuparamba town.
There is a very rare feature for this temple and it cannot be seen in other Mahadeva Temples. In the sreekovil there is shadadhara prathishtta, garbanyasa prathishta, yoganali, napumsaka shila, nidhikumbam and adara sila kurmam.
There is a water stagnation(neerurava) on the top hill near this temple and it provides cool atmosphere to Eeswaroth mahadeva kshethram.
An ashtamangalya prasnam was held here and it was found that the temple had a great history and ancestry. It was once under the control of Vita pazhassi maharaja. It was once attacked Tippu sultan and found one brahmin killed inside the sreekovil. There were 40 brahmin families lived near the temple.
There is abelif that in future it will be like a township and the temple wiil be like Sree Guruvayoor temple.
The presence and blessings of Nagaraja is here in all its virtuousness and goodness. This temple is very apt for marriage, chorun and vidyarambam.
At present on every Sunday morning pooja held here from 6am to 10 am. and on the first Sunday of every month, there held a vilakkupooja.
We have started the reconstruction work some years ago and it hasn't completed so far. A great amount is needed for the. Reconstruction and its related work. We want the help, support and generosity of each and every one to complete this work. We invite every pious person to come and see this maha Siva temple.
