THE REAL ME

THE REAL ME
At first, we go along with it all.
School
Society
Norms
Rules
Market
Competition
Targets
Diligence
Achievement
And at home
Parents
Children
Cousins
Uncles and aunts
Traditions
Duties
Responsibilities
Systems
Standards
And we do this 24/7, because that is what everyone does, and we are in a race against everyone else, against time , against all odds. And through great hard work, we begin to excel, stand on top of the office, get awards, and are praised by all at home.
And then, invariably comes a time when we tire, and realise that all this while, we have actually been racing against relaxation, against contentment, and therefore against ourselves. Because we have become great businessmen, doctors, engineers, CEO'S, actors, musicians, artists and what not, but we have always pandered to expectations, profits, life styles, goals, fame, awards, achievements, and recognition.
And then the time comes when, before we even know it, all of a sudden, the day is done, the show is over, and it is time to go. And we realise:
We have never really lived the life we wanted; Never invested our time in our Self.
We want to be free.
Free of convention and routine and repetition and artificiality.
We want to know the real me.
We want to get back to the innocence
when we were kids, and lived in our own world.
In that world, we knew the "Me".
And now, it is time to reclaim that innocent, free, me, once again, within.
Aum Namah Shivaye.
