RE -CHARGING THE SPIRITUAL BATTERY
Most pictures of Shiva show him in a deep self repose. Eyes closed, and with a deep dive within. Preliminary Self repose is called chintan, a contemplation, it could either be a reflection on the outer world, or then an introspection about himself, his inner world.
Chintana can develop into a yog dharana: steady stream of thoughts on consciousness, it is then that Shiva embarks onto Dhyana, his speciality, which is called meditation .
yogis meditate on Shiva, so the question is what would Shiva Himself meditate upon? It seems probable that Shiva mediates upon His own creation, the welfare of the entire world, as well as the means to achieve this: His own Godhood, Shivatva. So He constantly 'recharges' the spiritual battery of the universe.
