Understanding And Using Karma As A Spiritual Strength

Understanding And Using Karma As A Spiritual Strength :

Karma can be understood simply by imagining that when we take some action, for example, we short-change a customer, the short-term result may be that we gain a few rupees, but then comes the boomerang of our action. We meet people and circumstances that short-change us in magnified and manifold ways. If we do not get the results of our karmic actions in this life, then we “meet ourselves” (our choices of this life) in the next one. At that time, practically everyone, we feel, is taking advantage of us in some way or the other. Of course, we can shrug, feel sorry for ourselves, cry, get angry and grieve and say it is our karma. But the wiser thing is to use that karmic result as an eye-opener – never to short-change or take advantage of anyone else. This action can be substituted by every non-harmonious action – like misunderstanding others, being criticized by others, being laughed at by others, being belittled by others – everything we experience is the result of the choices we have made in earlier lifetimes – every single thing, be it pleasant or unpleasant.

Understanding and using Karma as a spiritual strength allows us not just to develop soul-growth, but also to advance spiritually, allowing our awareness and consciousness to expand more and more.
