* The three Golden *.
Rules for Meditation are:
Just for the next few minutes,
1. I want nothing.
2. I will do nothing.
3. I am Nothing.
Small (or big) desires can keep you from meditating. I want some water… Need to call up a friend… Want to earn lots of money … etc. So just decide, for just a few minutes, I want nothing.
Wanting to do stuff can stop you from transcending. All our lives we have been told if we want to get anywhere, we need to DO stuff. Don’t just sit there and think, get up and DO… To meditate, do nothing. Simply be.
Finally, labeling yourself I am rich or intelligent or impatient or angry or anything else… will stop you from reaching the subtle levels of your mind. Just for a few minutes drop all your labels, your identity, and relax. I am Nothing…
With just the awareness of these three things meditation can become quite easy to learn and to practice.
