Shiva in a thinking Mood. A rare depiction. Shiva seems to be brooding on a subject close to His heart.
His appearance gives a hint: He has grown a beard, and this would probably happen during the time between Sati and Parvati.
Is He thinking of the past? the future?
Or , as the timeless Master that He really is,
is it a mix of both that remains safe with Him.
God's memory is the perfect record keeper of what has already gone by, and God's Imagination makes Him the lucid dreamer who gives life to things yet to appear.
And yet, He does this always by being in the present moment. God is always Here, and now, as The author of all things. Aum Namah Shivaye!
