It is Shivji, who tells shakti her own origins! So on the day of mahanavmi, which is the origin of Shakti, we must remember the togetherness of the Divine pair.
But surprisingly ,in the spiritual Kashmir Shaiv Darsana : Kashmir Shaivism,it is Shiva who needs to be reminded by various acts of Shakti ,various experiences in His life that show Him he is the supreme soul.To the Bhakt who has experienced the love of God, both theories are perfectly alright and complementary to each other, not contradictory.
