The Gada is the main weapon of Lord Hanuman. Known for his strength, Hanuman Ji is traditionally worshipped by wrestlers in South and Southeast Asia. Shri Vishnu also carries a gada named Kaumodaki in one of his four hands. In the Mahabharata epic, the fighters Bhima, Duryodhana, Jarasandha, Balarama and others were said to be masters of the gada. The martial art of wielding the gada is known as gada-yuddha. It can either be wielded singly or in pairs, and can be handled in twenty different ways. Various gada-yuddha techniques are mentioned in the Agni Purana and Mahabharata such as aahat, gomutra , prabrita , kamalasan, udarvagatra, namita, vamadakshina, aavrita, paraavrita, padodrita , avaplata , hansmarga and vibhag.  Gada is carried in the right hand of Hanuman Ji and is a symbol of self-sovereignty, the authority of governance and the power to rule. Lord Hanuman is worshipped for power and protection. Hanuman Ji is described to be one for whom nothing is impossible and who the embodiment of faith, devotion, is and fearlessness, self confidence and loyalty. And success is the outcome of such an attitude. Hanuman Ji embodies willpower, courage and an inspiration for success against all odds. Gada or Mace that Hanuman Ji carries is not a physical weapon, rather it's an ornament. This ornament is adorned on the hands of Shri Vishnu, Krishna, Maa Durga and Pandav Bheema. To be adorned with this ornament, one must have complete control over the five organs of action, the five organs of perception and the five vices of anger, greed, ego, lust and attachment. It is said that if one cannot have complete control over the body and the senses, then how can one be elevated to rule over others. Therefore, a requirement to be elevated to sovereign rule or ruling power, one must have controlling and judgmental powers!
