There is nothing in this world that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts. The mind is very powerful, it can invent, create, and allow you to experience love and joy. The mind is so powerful that it creates who we are and how we feel. This is why it is so important to learn how to control the thinking, because not only your joy and happiness comes from the mind, to a large extent so does your health because stress from over thinking leads to long term health problems. When we over think things, we twist everything around, we create worry and make everything seem much worse than it actually is. Over thinking creates problems you never had and do not exist. It makes your imagination run wild, and this can destroy you, remove your happiness and spoil your future. The solution is to learn to catch yourself when thoughts turn negative and a good way to stop the thinking is by breathing. Take long deep breaths and concentrate on your breathing, and this will calm you and return you to the present moment. The more you do this the easier it will become. Exercise is another way to reduce stress, even just walking is good, and this will create endorphins making you feel happier and more relaxed.
