Shiva the auspicious, Shiva the Warlord, Shiva the mountain God, Shiva the dweller of the cremation grounds, Shiva the creator of the universe, Shiva the destroyer, Shiva the ascetic, Shiva the loyal husband, Shiva the meditator, Shiva the recluse, Shiva the Supreme spiritual master! Which One was He?

The transformed seers spoke of Shiva in endearing terms, adding yet another epithet to His mentions. ‘Verily, He is all. He is Shiva Nataraja, Lord of the cosmic dance! ’

VIBHUTI

Hey Shiv Shanker Bhasm lapete, Vibhuti dete!

Lord Shiva often smears Himself with ashes.

This has a very deep significance:

when all material things are gone, only ash remains, It is the last element of the mundane world. Shivji can create a whole new Universe, and the ash reminds Him of the previous Universe. Vibhuti is another type of holy powder that resembles Ash.

It is said Vibhuti often emanates from Shivji. The interesting thing is that sometimes Vibhuti has been seen even on His pictures. Bhakts take this as a sign of great auspiciousness.

This is the kind of look God gives when we think we know everything! Whether it is knowledge, science, finance, administration, justice, relationships, astras, shastras, and of course, God Himself.

God is partly amused and partly surprised at the reach of

a ‘ knowledgeable ‘ man. And interestingly, this has happened many times- Someone sets out to conquer the world , till he encounters Shiva, who re-adjusts his understanding by giving a glimpse into His own spellbinding vision and imagination; And we know, this who we met was the Master; Shiva Himself, the Omega and therefore the Alpha, Adi antt.

It is far easier to approach Him with the innocence and love of a child and not only will He will teach us immediately, but also play along side.

This stunning picture of Lord Shiva sitting in Dhyana, along with His bhakts, is a beautiful expression .

We all know that Bhaktas often offer things to Shiva to show their devotion and gain His favour. We offer flowers, sweets, milk, curd, honey, Bilva leaves and so on. Some people even offer gold and precious things as a mark of respect. While Shiva accepts all these offerings with humility , what He really looks at, is the devotion- the bhaava with which we offer things. The greater bhaktas offer not just things but themselves, Tan, man dhan, body mind and soul .

SOMEWHWERE FROM THE MOUNTAINS

Somewhere

from the lofty mountain tops,

comes silent but strong,

a whisper

Shivo hum Shivo hum

I am the knower of all there is,

the winds carry the song

of an ascetic Divine.

Shivo hum Shivo hum

From a timeless time you looked for Him

who has always been thine!

singing His song from His heart

to yours O beloved bhakt,

He whispers, ' for love is the only shrine '.

SIVA SUTRAS

Ma Parvati asked Shiva when and where He would teach the rishis His great vidya, and He chose the beautiful stream in Kashmir, near the Mahadev mountain saying in kalyug, i will teach vasugupta the Siva sutras on the Shankerpal rock . Till date this priceless heritage has been handed down by Kashmir Shaivism to all the seekers who are sincere to learn.

WITHOUT YOU,THERE IS NO LIFE

 

WITHOUT YOU,THERE IS NO LIFE

Sati loved everything about Her Lord. Especially, His prowess in poetry.

“Say something nice,” She would say, as they lay on their rocky beds, staring at the stars in a clear sky. More often than not, He would just laugh and say, “You are very nice,”

One day, She implored, “No, say something really nice.”

It was then that Shiva said the most enigmatic thing. “Love, there is no such thing as the end of life, but, without you, there is no life.”

“That is lovely,” said Sati Him. And then, a few moments later asked, “What exactly does it mean, though?”

“It means…” said Shiva turning completely towards Her, and locking His eyes in Hers. “That there is a part of us which is eternal, but that part is of no use, if there is not another to share the eternity with.”

Sati hugged Him, in a ‘never to let go’ embrace.
