SOUND AND LIGHT
When in Dhyana, sometimes we are fortunate to be able to ‘see’ lights even though our eyes are closed. How many of you know this beautiful phenomenon?
Sometimes, when we are in Dhyana in a quiet corner of a room, when there is no outside noise, we ‘hear’ certain melodious sounds. How many of you have known this wonderful inner rhythm?
Sound and light are two very important things in our lives, we virtually live more than 50% by these two.
When i was young we used to have a some tourist places in some cities, like a fort or a royal garden of old times decorated in the night for a “Son et lumiere” a sound and light show, which meant a narration of a great story with the voice of a good orator and the decorated fort as the visual.
Now, the connection is that no matter what Dhyana- meditation you do or have, Shiva is the director of this Divine Sound and light show. All yogis therefore take Him as their Ishta, and look to Him as the source. This beautiful picture with Mahadev holding the damru in one hand and a fire in the other , while two hands are in Dhyana mudra, amply shows that He is the source of all sounds, lights and Dhyana itself.
Aum Namah Shivaye.
