Lord Ganesha has been acknowledged as the Remover of Obstacles and Lord of Success. The Sanskrit word ”Ganesh” comes from the word ”vighna”, which translates as obstacles, hurdles, hindrances, or impediments. There are 2 kinds of vighnas: external and internal. When we learn to remove the internal ”vighnas”, the external ones are consequently removed. The names Vighneshvara and Vighnesha refers to His core function as the master and remover of obstacles. Sri Ganapati is the patron of learning and letters. Vighneshvara is the legendary scribe who, using his commonly held broken tusk, wrote down parts of the ancient Mahabharata.
The story of Lord Ganapati’s head being chopped off by his father Lord Shiva is symbolic of the ego and intellect of the devotee that does not in its ignorance recognise that the source, the origin from where it came to exist is the source where it will have to merge to achieve that completeness. Replacing His head with the elephant head is symbolic of one who has a purified ego that removes the ignorance.! 🐘📿🕉🌀👁🙏🏻
Jai Shri Ganeshaya Namah ~ Shubh Ratri! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
