The preparations for the annual Thanka Anki procession carrying the sacred gold jewellery to be adorned on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during Mandala Pooja on December 26, which will set off for the Sannidhanam from Aranmula on December 22, are nearing completion.

The preparations for the annual Thanka Anki procession carrying the sacred gold jewellery to be adorned on the idol of Lord Ayyappa during Mandala Pooja on December 26, which will set off for the Sannidhanam from Aranmula on December 22, are nearing completion.
The specially designed vehicle carrying the Thanka Anki is currently receiving final touches at Kozhenchery, Aranmula . The procession will leave Aranmula Lord Parthasarathi temple from 7 am after the temple melshanti lights the traditional lamp mounted on the vehicle after performing ‘aarathi’.
A twenty member Travancore Devaswom Board team will accompany the procession all the way till Sabarimala, with a twenty member team from the Pathanamthitta Armed Police Camp providing security cover.
