The Shaivite concept of God is a non interfering God, for a God who interferes could be seen as a God who is biased, and interference leads to going against the very core of the universe following its own laws of nature.
Now then, how does a Shaivite progress when God will not be there to interfere in his or her life? Shaivism is knowledge, understanding, and meditation. One who has control of their senses and has knowledge can pause and rethink their actions, and thus change the outcome of their destiny.
Be like Shiva. That is what Shaivism is all about. Gurus who manipulate their own disciples want sheep for followers. In fact, they only want followers. That is not Shaivism. Shaivism is being yourself, realizing yourself, and your ultimate potential. Being meek is not a virtue, being submissive is not a virtue. Love, and being everything you can be, attain perfection and strive further. You are one with the universe.
