SABARIMALA: A Sabarimala pilgrim fell off the fly over crisscrossing the Sannidhanam and succumbed to injuries while he was attempting to get back his ‘Irumudi’ which had slipped off his shoulder.
The dead has been identified as Nadarajan’s son Vineeth (18), who is a native of Thiruvalloor in Tamil Nadu.
The incident happened on Monday morning at about 3 when he was standing in the long-winding queue towards the 18 steps. When Irumudi fell down from his shoulder he bent forward to retrieve it and in the process, fell upside down the fly-over. Though he was given the first aid in the Government Sannidhanam Hosptial and taken to Kottayam Medical College hospital, he died by noon. - kaumudi.com
