Shravana month is considered sacred to seek blessing of Lord Shiva and His consort Goddess Gauri by observing Vrats dedicated to them. Vrats like Shravana Somvar, Mangala Gauri are observed during Shravana month. Devotees take Sankalp either to observe fast during Shravana month or to continue for sixteen weeks starting from Shravana month.
Mangala Gauri Vrat is observed by married women on each Tuesday in Hindu month of Shravana. Women, especially newlywed, observe it to seek conjugal bliss from ‪#‎Goddess‬ ‪#‎Gauri‬.
Mangla Gauri Worship Procedure
Ganpati avahan mantra, Mangla Gauri avahan, Avahan mantras of all major dieties, dhyaan, story of parvati, aarti of parvati, pushpaanjali, Homam. Special puja dedicated to Goddess Parvati are performed on the day and women dress up like a traditional married woman with all bangles, flowers and mangalsutra – symbolically indicating to Goddess Gowri that they want to be like this for their whole life. It is believed that Goddess Parvati blesses women with material prosperity, health and happy married long life.
