To be ‘good’ is one thing; to be ‘pleasant’ is another.

To be ‘good’ is one thing; to be ‘pleasant’ is another. These two lead an individual to very different ends as one who chooses good attains happiness and one who prefers pleasant ever loses his object. Fools are ensnared into the mere pleasant and perish says the Kathopanishad.

When you do seva, are you doing it with desire or without desire? Krishna in the Bhagwad Gita emphasises that any yagna, sacrifice or service, if done to an appropriate, genuinely needy person as per sense of duty without any desire or expectations, at an appropriate place and time, can be called sattvic that helps you progress on the spiritual path.

Om Namah Shivay.
