Wisdom enhances knowledge, and moderates power.

Photo: Wisdom enhances knowledge, and moderates power. Power is blind, and can build as well as destroy. That is why, more the power one has, more is the wisdom also necessary to moderate its destructive effects. With nuclear weapons at their disposal, the rulers today need greater wisdom than when they had to make do with swords. “… without wisdom power is like a wind, It can breathe upon the heights and kiss the sky, It cannot build the extreme eternal things”, says Sri Aurobindo.

The Divine is the most powerful, and also has supreme wisdom. Man can get some wisdom from the Divine by moving closer to the Divine. But just as the moon lit up by the sun can never be as bright as the sun itself, there is a big gap between wisdom that is human and the Wisdom that is divine.

Om Namah Shivay.
