Latest Progress Report On Our Temple Restoration Works‏

The temple restoration works are current proceeding at a rapid pace.  The masonry work of the chuttambalam work has been on-going for the last one month with the engagement of about 5 to 10 workers daily.

So it has been decided that we will fix the "kattila" on August 30th 2013, a Friday between 8.30am and 9.30am.

We are requesting the presence and blessings of the Payyan family on that day. Please convey this matter to all our relatives and please make sure they will be at our Temple in Aroli for the function.

The masonry works has been ongoing  daily since August 8,2013. About half of the chuttambalam floor has been completed. Mason Pavithran has told that almost 3/4 of the flooring work will be completed a day before the fixing of the kattila. Some of the workers who are doing the work are staying in the temple premises itself.

The special granite (karinkallu) kattilas were bought from Ottappalam (Palakkad district). The two kattilas will be transported to our Temple any day now.

A total of 630 cubic feet of wood was purchased from Sulli Government Forest Depot. We had made six trips to Sulli and Nettana to obtain the wood and the wood purchased were transported to the Saw Mill for sizing. The carpenter was present at the Mill for four days to supervise the sizing up of the wood. The sized wood were delivered to our temple premises by lorries doing seven trips.

With the joined dedication of our Committee Members and by our God's Grace, we were able to source the required wood at a lower price than expected. If any additional wood is required, it will be purchased locally according to the requirements.

Yours lovingly,
Praveen
Temple Committee Chairman.
