Ekadashi June 2013 date - Monthly Fasting for Vishnu in June 2013

Ekadashi June 2013 based on Hindu calendar and Panchang. It is the eleventh day in a Hindu calendar and is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu. Ekadashi Fasting in June 2013 are on June 4 and June 20. Fasting on Ekadasi is considered highly meritorious and the popular belief is that one attains moksha or liberation after performing Ekadasi.

The Ekadasi on June 4 is known as Apara Ekadasi and Acchala Ekadashi. Jalakrida Ekadasi is observed on the day in Orissa. Bhadrakali Ekadasi is observed in Punjab and Jammu on the day.
Ekadasi on June 20 is known as Nirjala Ekadasi. The popular belief is that observing this one Ekadasi is equal to observing all the other Ekadasi in a year. This Ekadasi is also known as Bhim Ekadasi.

Note - June 19 is marked as Nirjala Ekadasi in calendars followed only in Madhya Pradesh and by some mutts in Tamil Nadu. In all other regions fasting is marked on June 20. June 19 is marked as Smarta Ekadasi in some regions.
