But Divine knowledge in its purity is very torrential, very difficult to hold. Therefore ,It is not enough to pray to Ganga Ma to come to Earth from her heavenly abode at the feet of Vishnu ji. someone has to withstand the impact of Her descent. so Rishi Bhagirath prays to Lord Shiva to receive the mighty Ganga on His matty hair.Thereafter Shivji trickles her out in a stream which we can partake in. If you think of it carefully This again confirms Shivji is the primal Guru who gives out all Divine knowledge in a steady measure.Jai Gange Ma! Jai Ho Shiv shanker, Jai Bhagirath !
