The annual holy pilgrimage of Amarnath is all set to begin on Friday, June 28, 2013 when the first batch of pilgrims will leave early morning for the cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from the base camp in Jammu amid tight security.
Few days ago there were reports in media that the holy Shivling at the Amarnath cave has shrunk to almost half its actual size barely two weeks ahead of the commencement of the annual Hindu pilgrimage.
Please find below the first pictures of Amarnath Shivling 2013 for darshan of lakhs of devotees who cannot actually visit Amarnath.
The 2013 Amarnath Yatra ends on August 21, 2013 – Shravan Purnima day, which coincides with the Raksha Bhandhan day.
Every year, lakhs of devotees chant Lord Shiva slogans like “Bum Bum Bolay, Chalo Amarnath, Chalo Eik Saath” while trekking for Amarnath caves.
